A $6.6 millionTreatment Plant expansion project is currently underway and consists of the following:

• Primary Pumps - Increase capacity of existing pumps and add two submersible pumps
  
  
• Influent Screening - provide a third screen
  
  
• Grit Removal - add a third grit removal unit
  
  
• Intermediate Pumps - increase the capacity of each existing pump and add one submersible pump
  
  
• Clarifiers - install a fourth clarifier
  
  
• Filters - add two filters
  
  
• Effluent Disinfection - add a third contact tank
  
  
• Sludge Disposal - add a composting operation which will provide a product useful by the Utility, the City of Jacksonville, and possible, private individuals for landscaping and as a soil conditioner.
  
  
• Repair Items - recoat an repaint metals, revise area lighting, concrete repairs, resurface roads, rotor replacement, sludge pump replacement, clarifier density baffles, replenish filter media, new return sludge controls, miscellaneous piping modifications, chlorine building modifications, recycle pump station replacements.
